Video: Lupe Fiasco on MTV's Mixtape Monday
Lu has pushed back working on LupEnd until at least early next year. Apparently, he's going to concentrate on putting out the FNF artists - here he mentions He Say She Say, Matthew Santos and Sarah Green. No GemStones? I dig that he's going into the CEO role though, I'm excited to see the rest of his roster shine.

GUess what I know...of all those artist Matthew will be lucky if he comes out..Im so in tune with them..Lupe is a a selfish little bitch (aint he Pro?...Boogz)..they got stories...So he didnt like the fact that he took Stones on the road with him and that NIgga "OUTSHINED" him..Im not telling you what I think..These are facts!..So Stones needs to get the fuck from over there...He was signed before all of them!!!...
You might be right i dont know but Santos,Sarah Green and HeSaySheSay is the right move because they will move units & sale tickets for sure (not even a question) compared to a rapper who wouldnt sale at all..... Gemstones or Shayla G.....You cant compare early times at a label when everybody was wet behind the ears to something thats worldwide now, the past is the past and the future is now!!
to the idiot below..there are NO gurantees in this game..because something is "hot right now" doesnt mean that it will WIN...If thats the case then LUPE should have never sold a record conventially. He purposely went against the grain...and said "fuck the stats" fuck what the white record execs say that a liitle nerd lame wont sale..and guess what (he didnt) his first album..But what he did was propel a movement. Securing his future...and you know what happened..THe trendy ass business wants to see more affeminate tight pants wearing Non threatning black men , ie, (Naledge, the Cool kids, He say She say, etc) THis is not to take anything away from He Say She Say , Matt or Sarah...But if you know ANYTHING about the business you would now that R&B singers(Sarah) that is a hard hard fight...As for Shayla G being a rapper isnt exactly popular for a girl, THey DONT SALE...she was a risk period..but they signed those artist then because the were against the grain!!>..so I agree with you there...Though I heard some of her new material and I dont even know if I would call her a "Rapper"...she is on the same brink with That same "hipster" movement...The same with Stones (being Multi-facited)....So only speak of what you know...Not what you assume....THERE ARE NO GURANTEES for SALES in this business...and if you follow trends...that doesnt always translate into success!!

For real. Now I see why GemStones flipped like he did. All of em going "pop". I ain't hatin. Get to the money! But if thats whats this is........say so.
I think they finna be on some new shit, i wouldnt say it will be "pop" cause they wont be popular in the definition of what "pop" music is but they will go for a more worldwide appeal..... It all comes down to creative music and money....the norm is not hittin anymore, only a select few can still do the norm and eat right now.

Man, its about time Lupe started focusing on the label. I know they've got mad skills, all around (singers, rappers, producers, etc.), they're really just stickin' it out, trying to be patient.
What bothers me most though is how an artist like GemStones, who has undoubtedly proven himself to be one of the key players on the FNF team, has had to take backseat. And now, Lupe doesn't even acknowledge him? What happened to Troubles of the world Lu? Do you not remember how long ago that was supposed to drop?
Not saying that that was Lu's mindset during the interiew, but first and foremost - Gemstones is up next.
Its a damn shame cuz as I've grown tremendously as a producer, I've seen Gem on the Chicago scene grow as a rapper and singer. Its time for him to shine.

I think Gem already said in an interview that he's not longer signed to Asylum and that they try to get a new deal for him.
Get your release papers and get the fuck off FNF Gemstones..Lupe views you as a threat...Why no rappers? All those other artists dont rap...They can't take his shine(you know he wants attention thats why he wore that GOOFY ass outfit....he's not setting trends he's looking for attention..period...Gemstones..you need to go holla at Chill cuz' he actually got love for you...When wasthe last time you talked to him? There's no way Gemstones will ever out sale sarah, matthew or HesayShesay...it's a business move, why put somebody out who aint gonna sale and then you gotta play catch up, trying to recoup the loss. Lupe aint no fool his parents taught him well. Lupe is good peoples it's just business and friendships are 2 seperate things and most cats dont understand that.I'm pretty sure Gemstones will be happy in his new situation if there is one.
