Leave my boo alone. Ya'll mad cause my man doing it big and ya'll still in this city. Like a bunch of crabs. I love my man and fuck all ya'll haters in chicago
Let me tell you all something. This so-called "Chicago Movement" is not a movement. It's a marketing gimmick. Let me tell you what a movement is. A movement is Sedgwick & Cedar, ok?
Chicago is filled with a bunch of posers. We are the wasteland of the hip-hop/rap music industry period. Huston got more juice then us (Nothing against H-Town). Our region was born to be a marketing & manufacturing pipeline aka (heartland of America , our purpose is to be simple consumers and buy what the East & West coast (don;t forget Japan and Taiwan)offer. We still can't find a niche', please! The Cool Kids, Naledge, Mikkey, and a few others got my support. But how much marketing dollars you think is behind these artist I just mentioned combined? $150, maybe $200,000 dollars total (benefit of doubt). It's estimated you need a quarter mil' per region to break an artist naturally. How many of you got that in your stash??? The fact is, keep doing the music but don't call it a movement. It's a lame excuse to say "hey look at me I'm doing something." You want to start a movement? Create jobs and workshops for these so-called artist that want to make a career out of music, show them the ropes so they know how to conduct themselves when it comes to business ethics. Finally, stop calling your self a Mogul or CEO. If your company is barely pulling in $25,000 a year that's not a Mogul or CEO...you're a entry level worker. I have a lot more to say but, rather you folks think for yourself for a change. Peace.
Real spit.
I keep tellin ya'll noone is checkin for these cats. Cool Kids and Kids in the Hall have a decent underground base but please don't label it a "movement" just yet. They doin them. These other guys are just a couple of dickriders banding together trying to create a "get down or lay down" atmosphere in Chicago. I know they mean well, but I ain't goin. I doubt the Cool Kids are even in that click. They seem to do them a lot and stay away from all that BS. Which is why they doin such big things. Its these other guys that saw how they did it and are now tryin to force lightening to strike twice(impossible). Much support to ANY artist doing what they do. There is a way to knock this industry door down and still maintain the versatility that makes Chicago so unique.
Also,Timbuck2 touched on this on saturday nights go-ill radio. I have one knock on this dude.He not really as relevant as these are making him out to be. He's part of that movement as well. There are no program directors overseein what he does with that radio show. He pretty much spins what he wants. He throws in garbage surrounded by the artists he wants to support. No different then what any other DJ does, but please you all....recognize game when you see it. If you out here makin moves and don't like this, voice your opinion when you see him.Hell, hit him in his mouth when you see him. Somehow...someway...things gotta change in Chicago.
