Common to (fake) retire from Rap?

Do you think he’s already selected the title for his “comeback” album?

Yesterday I read on one of those Hip Hop fabrication...er.. gossip sites that Common is planning to retire from rapping to concentrate on his “acting” career. This comes as a surprise to absolutely no one, as it’s pretty evident that Lonnie has shifted his focus towards the thespian world over the past few years.

I mean, “Finding Forever” was pretty much “meh”, but who knows, Lonnie could have another “Resurrection” hiding someone inside of that bald head of his (Or at least another “One Day It Will All Make Sense”) . But at this point who knows.

So I guess we can give that Q-Tip collabo album a release date of Nevuary 38th, 4001

But look at the bright side…he can join this esteemed list of (fake) rap retirees:

Jay-Z
Retired:
November 14, 2003. Welcome Back: November 21, 2006

Ma$e
Retired: June 15, 1999. Welcome Back (zing!): August 24, 2004

Master P
Retired:
June 2, 1998. Welcome Back: October 26, 1999

Too $hort
(and we gon’ kick it like this on the laaaast album)
Retired: June 18, 1996. Welcome Back: July 13, 1999

Scarface
Retired: August 8, 2006. Welcome Back: December 4, 2007

All of these so-called retirements were extremely fake, with the Colonel MP and Mr. Scarface being by far the fakest.

Am I missing any? I didn’t care to check…

haha, good read, wasn't DMX claiming the champion album or what was it called would be his last album? , having now done 5albums he would be the heavy weight champion or whatever, yeah that trick has become pretty lame I'm wondering when jay-z is going to retire, or is Nas maybe next ,releasing his greatest hits? ...
